I'm sure by now you've heard all the jokes 
About old age, wrinkles and grey hair. 

Well, let me assure you, dear friend, 
THIS birthday message won't go there! 

No wisecracks about memory loss, 
Or sagging body parts. 

I promise I won't do that. 
I swear, cross my heart. 

For birthdays should be treated 
With grace and dignity. 

And if I poke fun at you, 
You could just poke right back at me! 

No, birthdays should be respected. 
No IF's, AND's, BUT's or MAYBE's. 

Besides, Mama always told me 
To be nice to the little old ladies!!
